Grass Fed Beef

Whole Cow

When you purchase a whole cow, you will receive all the parts of the animal that are typically used for meat production. This includes the following parts:

  1. Steaks: A whole cow will provide a variety of different cuts of steaks, including sirloin, ribeye, T-bone, and filet mignon.
  2. Roasts: You’ll also receive a selection of roasts, such as chuck roast, rump roast, and round roast.
  3. Ground beef: Ground beef is made from the less expensive cuts of meat, such as the chuck and round, and is a versatile option for a variety of dishes.
  4. Stew meat: This is typically made from the tougher, less expensive cuts of meat and is used for stews and other slow-cooked dishes.
  5. Brisket: This is a tough cut of meat that requires slow cooking but can be incredibly flavorful and tender when cooked properly.
  6. Short ribs: Short ribs are a cut of beef taken from the rib cage of the cow, and can be cooked in a variety of ways.
  7. Offal: This includes the internal organs of the cow, such as the liver, heart, tongue, and kidneys.
  8. Bones: The bones of the cow can be used to make bone broth or stock.

Overall, purchasing a whole cow will provide a wide variety of cuts of meat that can be used in many different dishes, and can be a cost-effective way to obtain high-quality meat.

Half Cow

When you purchase a half cow, you will receive approximately half of all the meat from a whole cow. Imagine if the cow was split down the spine. Purchasing a half cow can be a cost-effective way to obtain high-quality meat. It will provide a smaller amount of product compared to purchasing a whole cow, but still contain all of the same cuts and variety.

It is important to consider your specific meat preferences and storage capacity before deciding. All cuts of meat, weights, and amount of product are completely dependent on the cow, butcher being used, and processing decisions that you make. This is to provide you a general guideline for what you are likely to get. If you have any questions in relation to the product you will receive, please feel free to send us a message.

Below is a general guideline of the questions you will be asked by the butcher. You will get to choose how the cow is broken down, elect to get rid of particular cuts and substitute them for extra ground beef, as well as choose the thicknesses of your steaks.

Grass Fed Lamb

We are excited to announce that our farm is expanding our inventory to include grass-fed lamb. We hope to put lamb into your freezers as early as 2024. We are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality, ethically-raised meat, and we believe that adding lamb to our inventory is an important step towards achieving this goal. Our lambs will be raised on our lush, green pastures, where they will be free to graze and roam in a stress-free environment. We will never use hormones. We do not use antibiotics, unless necessary and recommended by a practicing veterinarian as a lifesaving intervention. If an animal is treated, they are documented and tracked for the remainder of their life on the farm. We will work to ensure that our lambs are treated with the utmost care and respect throughout their lives. We believe that grass-fed lamb is not only better for the animals, but also for the environment and for those who consume it. We are excited to bring this new addition to our farm and look forward to sharing our delicious, high-quality grass-fed lamb with our customers.

Bees

We are thrilled to announce that our farm is getting bees! We recognize the vital role that bees play in our ecosystem, and we are committed to doing our part to support these essential pollinators. By raising our own bees, we hope to create a more sustainable and diverse environment on our farm while also producing delicious honey for our customers. Our bees will have access to a variety of natural sources of nectar and pollen, including wildflowers and crops grown on our farm without the use of harmful pesticides or chemicals. We are excited about the potential benefits that raising bees can bring to our farm, and we look forward to sharing the fruits of our labor with our community. Stay tuned for updates on our progress as we work to establish our own thriving hive! Even though bees will be arriving in the next few weeks we will not have honey for sale until 2024, as it takes time for bees to settle in before they start producing excess honey.

Greenhouse

We are excited to announce that our farm is planning to expand with a new greenhouse, which will allow us to grow a diverse range of plants including fruits, vegetables, flowers, and houseplants. Our commitment to sustainable agriculture and local food production is at the forefront of this expansion, and we believe that a greenhouse will enable us to provide our customers with high-quality produce and plants throughout the year. With this new addition, we will be able to extend our growing season, grow crops that may not be native to our region, and experiment with new varieties of fruits and vegetables. We also plan to grow beautiful flowers and houseplants, which will be available for purchase at our farm store. We are excited to offer a wider range of products and services to our customers, while also promoting sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. Stay tuned for updates on our progress as we build and prepare our new greenhouse.
